5 Best Animated Short Films Academy Awards 2013

The idea of this post came when I was writing my previous post, 7 short movies about love. I snapped into this cool website, http://shortoftheweek.com, a website that focuses to gather and review short movies. So, here it is. There are five shorts competing for this year�s Oscar in category �Best Short Film (Animated)�; they are �Adam & Dog�, �Fresh Guacamole�, �Head over Heels�, �Maggie Simpsons in �The Longest Daycare��, and �Paperman�. I�m trying to review each of them from my point of view, and because I�m reviewing short movies, I�m trying to write as short as I can.

F. Scott Fitzgerald �s classic novel, �The Great Gatsby� , has been taken into a vibrant, grotesque movie by the hand of Baz Luhrmann . And I never expected that such classic story was also adapted for a 3D movie, which at first I thought would be just too much. Critics seem don�t like it, because their reviews on this movie was mixed. I think I�m gonna be against them: I love this movie (but I don�t really like Luhrmann�s style), maybe because of the fact that I haven�t either read the novel or watch the previous movie. This is a saddening, sorrowful story of The Great Jay Gatsby , despite of its glamorous package. read more �

Next is acting performances. Don't get me wrong: I don't mix these 20 outstanding actors and actresses altogether; I made 4 categories with 5 actors or actresses in each category. And as I made this list, I realized that... my list is kind of anti-mainstream. That does not mean that I haven't watched the movies whose stars are nominated in global awards like Globes, BAFTAs, Oscars, and all. It's just that my personal taste doesn't make me think that they are good enough. read more �
